Wrapping Up the Season

Risk-Free Cookie Checkout (regular season!)

The originally planned Risk-Free Cookie Checkout program as outlined on page 13 of the Volunteer Guide will run as scheduled – you place your order on Sunday, March 16, for pick up the following week, and returns for that order can be brought back to Super Cupboards on Monday, March 24.

During Risk-Free Cookie Checkout week, volunteers can pick up all varieties of cookies that are still in stock at Cookie Cupboards. That means you can place a Planned Order on March 16 based on anticipated sales, (including cookie booths), and then return remaining cookies that don’t sell, (up to the quantity checked out), on March 24. Here’s how it works:

  • Place a Planned Order in Smart Cookies by Sunday, March 16. Orders may be subject to change, depending on the remaining GSGI inventory.

  • Pick up your Planned Order that week (no later than March 21).

  • Return any cookies left from that order on March 24. You cannot return more cookies than were picked up, but you can return different varieties than what you picked up in that last order. If you exchange cookies at the time you pick up your Risk-Free order, you may only return up to the difference of what you ordered from Risk-Free and what you exchanged at the time of pick up.

    • For example, if you order ten cases (120 packages) during Risk-Free Cookie Checkout and exchange two cases (24 packages) at your pickup, you will only be able to return up to eight cases (96 packages) on March 24.

Please note: Risk-Free Cookie Checkout is designed to help minimize risk and allow Girl Scouts to reach their goals by continuing to sell in the final days without having leftover cookies at the end of the program. Anyone who participates in Risk-Free Cookie Checkout is eligible to return their remaining inventory only. Please do not accept transfers from a nonparticipating troop or Juliette to return cookies on their behalf.

If your troop needs a cookie variety that is not in stock* the last week, you can connect with other troops to trade, or direct customers to order online. Select Cookie Cupboards will be open for Risk-Free Cookie Checkout returns on Monday, March 24.

*Why would some cookies be out of stock? Just as troops are responsible for ordering and managing their inventory, GSGI orders cookies from ABC Bakers throughout the program. GSGI is responsible for all the cookies ordered and prioritizes minimizing residual inventory.

For the rest of the season’s extension, we will be offering an adjusted Risk-Free Cookie Checkout program. Find the specifics outlined under 2025 Cookie Program Extension.

Troop Recognition Order

With the extension of the 2025 cookie program, Reward Orders are due at 11:59 p.m. on Monday, April 14. If you would like to start working ahead, be sure to start collecting reward choices from the girls in your troop.

  • For girls that choose the T-shirt at 255+ packages, or the hoodie at 760+ packages, be sure to collect their size information to enter into Smart Cookies. Pay extra attention if you need Youth or Adult sizes.

  • For girls who are selling over 1,000+ packages, be sure to find out if they are interested in an opt-out prize! They can choose a laptop, KitchenAid Stand mixer, Inflatable Screen and Projector or a Free Camp Session at 1,000+ packages. An Apple iPad Air, Meta VR Headset or Dyson Hair Wrap + Accessory Bundle at 1,500+ packages, or even a spot on the 2027 Savannah Trip! Girls who sell 3750+ packages can earn a trip to Washington, D.C., for the 2026 Girl Scout National Convention or an Apple Macbook Pro. You can find details on these rewards under Cookie Rewards.

  • For individual girls who have chosen one of the opt-out plans, you will adjust the Proceed Plan for that individual girl by going to My Troop > Troop Roster and either click on her name or the three dots to the far right. Select the correct plan and save.

  • If you need to adjust your Troop Proceed Plan in Smart Cookies go to My Troop > Troop Information. You will only adjust you Troop Proceed Plan if your troop is opting out of all rewards for additional proceeds – available for troops and Juliettes at the Cadette, Senior, or Ambassador levels.

Once you have completed all transfers in Smart Cookies, it’s time to create and place your Troop Recognition Order. This must be completed by 11:59 p.m. on Monday, April 14, in order for GSGI to be able to order rewards for your troop or Juliette.

To complete your Troop Recognition Order:

  • Go to Rewards > Recognition Order to start the rewards process for your troop. Once you have created your Troop Recognition Order, you will go to Rewards > Manage Recognition Order to make any edits needed.

  • You must select “Main” from the drop-down for your Troop Recognition Order to populate.

  • All the girls in your troop will be listed and you must go in under each girl to make her reward selections.

    1. If there is a red triangle to the right of the girl’s name that means at least one selection must be made for her before you can finalize your Troop Recognition Order.

    2. Don’t forget about the “Extras!” Smart Cookies will not flag the “Extras” as required for your Troop Recognition Order. If you need to choose patches from the back of the Reward Panel for girls in your troop, don’t forget to select those for any girls who earned them before the reward order deadline.

    3. If you have one or more girls who have selected an Opt Out Reward Plan, you must change her selection at the girl level (My Troop > Troop Roster). Under your Troop Roster, click the pencil to the far right of her name and change the Main Recognition Plan drop down in the screen that pops up to the correct plan.  Don’t forget to click Save!

  • Once the Status in the red bar at the top of your Troop Recognition Plan screen says “Complete,” the rewards plan for your troop has been entered. You do not need to “submit” your rewards, that will happen automatically.

As you work on your Reward Order, SAVE, but do not COMMIT your order. This will allow you to go back and make changes. All orders will be automatically committed after the deadline.
